Girls Chess Team Wins 2nd Place National!

Our very own P.S. 116 Chess Team Girls flew to Chicago,IL to the All-Girls National Chess Tournament to rule the chess boards and returned home with a beautiful trophy.

Congratulations to Chloe Cohen, Leah Hart, Cholene Kramer, Juliette Moreland, Danaye Kostopoulos, and Estelle Morden!
Girls ruled the board this past weekend at the All-Girls National Chess Tournament in Chicago, Illinois. Five talented girls from P.S. 116 Chess Team, Chloe Cohen, Leah Hart, Cholene Kramer, Juliette Moreland, Danaye Kostopoulos, and Estelle Morden played an amazing game and went home with a big 2nd place tournament trophy. The chess team leader Anatoly could not have done a better job in supporting and guiding them through the tournament. We all thank him for the tremendous support and team leadership he has provided. NYChessKids is very proud of the girls with all the effort and training they have done in preparation for this event. Every fridays, they dedicated their time at P.S. 116‘s Chess Team Training after-school in improving their chess skills and practice. All their hard work and commitment ultimately payed off. It is a wonderful accomplishment! They have a bright future ahead of them. Keep on playing chess girls!
